Why I give my monthly entitlements for my kingdom devt – HRM Warewini

The Paramount Ruler of Obotebe Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, King Emmanuel Warewini Arikawei (aka King Etopo) has revealed why he gave his monthly entitlements and other benefits as King for the building of a Royal Palace and development.


He said that his emergence as monarch is to seek for ways for the development of the Kingdom. Therefore, according to him, givings his monthly stipends, other benefits to the kingdom is part of his developmental agenda in the kingdom.

HRM Warewini told gathering while conferring chieftaincy titles to deserving subjects at the weekend, said ‘‘Giving my monthly entitlements and other benefits to my kingdom is part of my promise with a genuine commitment to bring development, using my influence to woo government, multinationals to attract development to my Obetebe kingdom during my reign by the grace of God’’

The  monarch noted the Ijaw communities generally have a peculiar developmental challenges. That the epidemic nature of annual flooding which is now prevalent in the coastal Delta in  Obotebe Kingdom and other Delta riverine communities is sad as the residents are  greatly affected by the ravaging flood with nobody to come to the rescue of the people.

He called on both state, federal government and non governmental agencies to send relief materials to flood victims in Obetebe kingdom as well as other riverine Ijaw communities affeted by the flood to cushion their pains.

His words,”Heavy duty machines for dredging and excavation shall arrive Obotebe town to commence dredging and link her up with neighbouring communities so as to give face-lift and fast track development as well as ease the pains that comes with annual flooding”.  He said.





Speaking further, he  commended Government’s resolves so far in some part of flood prone areas of the federation for their prompt painstaking efforts to curb the menace of annual flooding by way of easing collateral damage. He urged all hands to be on deck noting that, Government can’t do it all.
