Why health sector gets highest priority in my 2019 budget- Angele Godknows

BURUTU- Chairman of Burutu LGA of Delta state, Hon. Godknows Angele has disclosed why he committed much priority on the health sector in the 2019 fiscal year budget presented to the legislative arm recently in the council area.

He said while speaking exclusively with Daily Watch today in his office at the council secretariat stated  that the 2019 budget which he tagged budget of hope/ consolidation with total of N3,719,621,398.00 which the health sector took the highest amount.

‘‘ It is the desire of my administration to restore the hope of our people for the better tomorrow, and this is achievable. You know health they said is wealth and that is the reason why with a resolve to renovate and equip all the health/maternity centers to provide affordable health scheme for my people.

‘‘ My people are far away from hospitals, means there is no sound hospital in Burutu LGA. Sick people go to Warri, Ughelli, Oghara, Benin etc to receive treatment. The only way to provide affordable health scheme for my people is to provide good health scheme which enable them to get a better medical attention within the council area,  without necessarily  going to distant places to receive healthcare. I will refurbish existing medical center/maternity and build fresh ones across the communities in Burutu council.

‘‘ We shall improve on our revenue drive to shore up our internally generated revenue (IGR) as well as plug all leakages of our resources. All that I need from my people is co-operation.’’

Continuing, he said ‘‘Agriculture/natural resources, education, youths development/job creation, general administration and others are also looked into with quite appreciable amount that we will use our scarce resources to provide the best for my people. I need the total support of the legislators and every person in Burutu to join us to achieve this vision.’’ He said.

He commended the council workers for their cooperation and understanding as well as the lawmakers and all political appointees for the display of love and total peace which existed in the council to contributed towards the past year’s massive achievement. He appealed to them to continue to exhibit such love and cooperation to move the council forward.
