We‘ll resist reappointment of NDDC Board members by Cabal in Aso Villa -IYC

Warri- Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) world-wide have threatened to resist in whatever means,any attempt by cabals in Aso Rock to re-appoint  serving board members in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) whose tenure will end soon.

The Ijaw youths said that the law establishing NDDC act allows only single tenure and the position of the managing director which is currently occupied by Senator Ndoma Egba from Akwa Ibom State revolves around the states in Niger Delta. That after the tenure of the serving MD tenure expires, it would be the turn of Delta State to produce the next MD of the commission.

Factional President of the IYC Mr. Eric Omare made the disclosure today (Wednesday) in a press conference held at the secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists Correspondents Chapel, Warri who was flanked by various Ijaw youths leader, said ‘‘Cabal led by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation, Malami Abubarka and others  who on their  personal selfish reasons are using  Mr. President’s name to short-change the laws establishing  the NDDC act by trying to re-appoint the serving board members of NDDC whose tenure will end soon’’

Omare described the plot by cabal in Aso Rock  illegal and satanic, pointing out that it would spark off a strong opposition in Niger Delta, if the evil act is not revised immediately.

He said that President Muhammadu Buhari did not know with this current ugly development, stressing Mr.President is a man of upright track record and would not allow this satanic and illegal act pass throw is office.

Mr. Omare however, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to draw  the attention of the Attorney general of the federation and minister of justice Malami Abubarka and his cabal to order to avoid severe protest and crisis in the Niger Delta by short changing the statutory law that establishing the NNDC act.

He called on Mr. President to correct the illegalities and appoint fresh NNDC board members from the Niger Delta region to pilot the activities of the commission, when the current board duration expires.
