Warri: Rotary Club budgets N22.50m for education, health, others

The Rotary Club of Warri, District 9141 has budgeted N22,050,000 to execute educational,
health, micro-credit, youth empowerment scheme and other humanitarian projects for the 2021/2022 Rotary year.

The new Rotary President of Rotary Club of Warri, Rotarian Chris Oghene Omoru who stated this during his investiture as the 43rd President of the Club and fund raising at Edjeba-Warri, Delta State said that the money would enable the Club to actualize its humanitarian programmes with focus on education, health, micro-credit, youth empowerment, tree planting and
physiotherapy centre at Central Hospital Warri.

Rotarian Omoru further said that in this Rotary year the Club has planned to complete ongoing projects and proceed with new ones it set to achieve in the said period.

Rotarian Omoru stated that the Club has allocated N1,500,000 for youth’s empowerment, tree planting N200,000, Physiotherapy center at Central Hospital Warri N15,000,000, free health
check N200,000, career talk in three selected schools N150,000 and toilet facilities at Pessu
Waterside N5,000,000.

Rotarian Omoru affirmed that the Rotary Club of Warri has impacted positively on its
immediate environment through it community development projects, adding that the Club has
established Adult Literacy Centre at Ogunu, toilets and showers for inmates of the Correctional centre as well and the development of St. Anne Orphanage Home and provision of mobility to some disabled persons.

According to him “As Rotarians, we cannot but continue to ensure we impact positively on our
immediate communities and beyond. Every Rotary year affords us the opportunity to come with new projects that will impact positively on our community and humanity”.

He inaugurated the 2021/2022 Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Warri to assist him to actualize the Club’s target and also gave awards to some personalities amongst them are Chief Francis Omatseye, Chief (Hon.) Thomas Ereyitomi, Wellman Group, Mr. Eyitemi Brown Dibofun, Aursmon Nigeria Limited and Rotarian Lawrence Nwadiogu.

Rotarian Omoru humbly solicited the support of members, spirited individuals and corporate
organizations for maximum cooperation through donations to enable the Club execute its laudable projects.

In his valedictory speech, the Immediate Past President (IPP) of the Club, Rotarian Francis Okoro said that the Club has embarked and completed some projects in the 2020/2021 Rotary tear.

He said that his successor would complete the ongoing Physiotherapy Centre project and urged members and friends of Rotary to support the new president of the Club to succeed.
