Members of the Nigerian union of journalists, Warri correspondent chapel have passed a vote of confidence on its state chairman, comrade Michael Ikeogwu and his executive for leading the union well.
In a communiqué on Monday signed by Comrade Okies Veekies, Chairman and
Comrade Joe Ogbodu-Secretary on behalf of the union, said. ‘‘Congress passed a vote of implicit confidence on the transparent and purposeful leadership of Comrade Michael Ikeogwu led executive of the NUJ Delta State Council..
‘‘NUJ Warri Correspondents Chapel aligns with the resolution of SEC of NUJ Delta State towards the amicable resolution of the election in crises in State Information Chapel and others within the state.
‘‘ That the Chapel appeals for unity amongst Journalists in the State and stressed on the need to speak with one voice for a stronger and virile NUJ in Delta State.’’
The statement further noted ‘‘That NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel congratulates the new Commissioner for Information, Mr. Ehiedu Charles Aniagwu and the Chief Press Secretary, CPS. Olisa Ifeajika and urged both to use their positions to improve on the welfare of journalists in the state.
‘‘That congress also congratulate the new Board of DESOPADEC and Comrade Ovuozuorie Macaulay, DG of Warri/Uvwie Development Agency on their well deserved appointment.’’ The statement stated.
