Warri; Bad day for Ibori as mob attack him for alleged theft

WARRI- Angry mobĀ  this morning Saturday October 28 lynched a twenty two years old suspected thief, Jeffry Ibori for allegedly burgling the traders shops, stealing rods, generating sets, air conditioners and other valuables along the popular Cinema Site link road in Okumagba Layout,Warri, Delta State.

We gathered that the suspect was caught by one of the traders who have been monitoring him following missing items in his shop and that of his neighbours.

Unknown to him, the suspect who came in with an iron trolley had already burgled into a caravan shop belonging to one Peter Ezenwanyi and packed all the iron rods.

The trader raised alarm and called his neighbour,Peter Ezenwanyi who quickly dashed into the scene.

They caught him red handed at the scene of crime and he was beaten to pulp before dragging him to the Police Station at “B” Division in Warri.

In a chat with Daily Watch, the suspect stated that he does not have a house that is why he is stealing under the guise of scavenging for scraps.

Ibori who confessed to have committed the offence stated that it is the first time he was stealing from the shop.
He stated that he usually sells the rods and other stolen items to a dealer (name not mentioned) at the Jetty behind Igbudu Primary School in Warri.

Owner of the shop where the suspect burgled and stole rods, Mr. Peter Ezenwanyi noted that Jeffry Ibori is a thief stressing that,” he has steadily broken into my caravan shop and packed all my rods and other items.”

Ezenwanyi vowed to press charges against Ibori and make him account for all his stolen goods in time past.

Contacted, the Divisional Police Officer”B” Division in Warri,CSP Anieteh Eyoh could not pick calls put across to his mobile phone but a Police Source who craved anonymity stated that the matter is under investigation.
