The Bolo Monarch made the call in an exclusive interview at the sideline of the meeting of all government recognized Wakiriki Traditional Rulers, (the Supreme Council of Traditional rulers in Wakiriki nation) comprising Okrika, Ogu, Bolo and the Southern part of Port Harcourt Local Government Areas, hosted by HRH King (Brigadier General) Bright Ateke Fiboninumama Rtd (Obeomomu-odo) Amanyanabo of Abuloma kingdom at his Palace.

The Bolo-Luka VIII opined “To the best of my knowledge, the Abuloma traditional stool was recognized in 1978 as a third class stool in the state, so whatever that is the reason of not presenting certificate to the throne is best known by the government”.

My advice to the government is that the Abuloma throne is an ancient stool that was recognized in 1978, new stools have been emerging, and been recognized. It is not proper for an old stool to be neglected, and new ones are recognized. We are appealing to the Governor to recognised the throne to give the Abuloma people a sense of belonging and be in partnership with the state government”

The Secretary of the Supreme Council of Wakiriki government recognized traditional rulers further highlighted the objectives of the Monarch’s meeting.

“We hold our meeting periodically in different Palaces of our members. Today’s meeting is been hosted by HRH King (Brigadier General) Bright Ateke Fiboninumama Obeomomu-odo Amanyanabo of Abuloma.

The primary essence of the meeting is to make sure that all events in Okirika nation are orderly done in a peaceful manner. And to make sure that all our traditional institutions are in line with government directives. We are to also make sure we do not encourage criminality in our various kingdoms.

We are not happy about what is happening in some of our areas of authority. In such meetings we brainstorm to see how to reduce criminality to its barest minimum in the entire WAKIRIKE Nation and kingdoms, because we are the people at the grassroot. We always advice our subjects and they do adhere to our admonitions”.

Speaking on behalf of Abuloma council chiefs, the Chief of Staff of Abuloma Kingdom, Chief Barrister Sunny A.G.T Iwori, Chief and head of Iwori War Canoe House, while expressing the faith that the Abuloma throne will be recognized in no distant period, further appealed to Governor Nyesom Wike to recognize the Abuloma ancient throne. In his words:

“The Abuloma throne is an ancient throne, because we are not recognised today by this government and given staff of office doesn’t mean it won’t be recognized tomorrow.  Our time will surely come one day. The Governor in several forums had promised to recognise the incumbent Royal Highness. He went as far as acknowledging the incumbent Royal Highness as a friend and gentleman. And our king is making sure that the entire kingdom is peaceful and progressive. What else do we expect.  So we have the faith that our throne will be recognized in no distant time.

We appeal to the government to know that Obeomomu-odo is ancient stool in Port Harcourt City and in Rivers State, and we should be given certificate of recognition in no distant time”. Chief Iwori stressed.

It will be recalled that on September 13th, 2019 Governor Nyesom Wike presented Certificates of Recognition and Staff of Office  to 84 Traditional Rulers in Rivers State which the Abuloma ancient throne was not part of.

In attendance at the meet were all the Government recognized traditional rulers in Okirika Nation. HRM E T Obudibo Ikwo V, Amanyanabo of Ogoloma. HRM N D Ibiebele Nimenibo Loko IX, Amanyanabo of Ogu.  Amanyanabo of Koniju town, and Amanyanabo of Abuloma. There were also cultural musical group that gave comic relief at intervals during the meeting.
