UAE 2018 Club World Cup: Again FIFA snubs Nigerian refs

Just like the Russia 2018 World Cup, world soccer governing body, FIFA has refused to look the way of Nigerian referees for the Club World Cup UAE 2018.

FIFA in a release made available to the media yesterday named the referees, assistant referees and the Video Assistant Referees (VARs) that would be on parade in the competition billed to run from December 12-22.

FIFA’s Referees Committee disclosed that six refereeing trios, one from each confederation, will officiate the matches. FIFA also selected six more referees to operate as video assistant referees (VARs) during the tournament.

All of the selected match officials will arrive in Abu Dhabi on 6 December 2018 to complete their final preparations before the first match kicks off.

The FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 will be held in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain from 12 to 22 December 2018. The final will be played at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi on 22 December.

The competition will feature Al Ain FC of host UAE, Team Wellington FC of New Zealand, CD Guadalajara of Mexico and Real Madrid Club de Fútbol of Spain.
