Tension in Ondo as Akeredolu rallies lawmakers to impeach his deputy governor

Tension is building up in Ondo state following desperate attempt by the state government to impeach the deputy governor.

Mr Agboola Ajayi. Mr Ajayi had last week announced his withdrawal of membership from the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) and return to his erstwhile party, the People’s Democratic Party. He however said that he remains the deputy governor as he was duly elected. The impeachment move was further fuelled at the weekend by allegations that some lawmakers have been financially mobilized to remove the Speaker of the state house of assembly, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, described as one of the loyalists of the deputy governor.
