WARRI- A suspected armed robber (name unknown) on Tuesday November 7 died in an undisclosed hospital a day after he was allegedly shot by the Igbudu Community Vigilante for robbing a woman at gunpoint on Monday 6 at Old Welfare Street near Igbudu Market, Warri.
It was gathered that the suspected armed robber who had a bullet injury in a hot gun battle with the local vigilante died a day after in hospital. Our source said, the robber waylaid a woman with a gun pointed at the woman. The uproar attracted the vigilante members who quickly accosted him and he opened gun fire at the vigilantes who responded in similar shooting and one his legs was shot.
The deceased suspect who was identified by the vigilante as an indigene of Agbasa area in Warri bled seriously and was allegedly rushed by Policemen who were called in by the Vigilante to the hospital where he died late Tuesday.
Contacted, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka did not respond to text messages, even though our reporter made series of calls to his mobile phone.
