Stakeholders in criminal justice system speedy dispensation of justice would assist to decongest correctional center
The newly posted controlled of corrections, Akwa Ibom State command, Mr. Julius Ezugwu has appealed for more collaboration among stakeholders in the criminal justice system to ensure speedy dispensation of justice which will help to decongest Correctional Centers in Akwa Ibom State.
Mr. Julius Ezugwu stated this during his maiden inspection visit at Uyo Custodial Center in Uyo.
The newly controller of correction commended them for their diligent hard work and believe they would look into the issue and make sure speedy dispensation of justice is done.
Mr. Julius Ezugwu assumed duty as the 16th controller of correction, Akwa Ibom State command said his visit kick started his tour of Correctional facilities in the state which is necessary to check and upgrade them if necessary while commended his officers for their hard work without relenting despite uphill task to make sure continue to keep the integrity of the command.
In the same vein, while at Uyo Correctional Center, the Controller received the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Affairs, Dr. Ini Adiakpan who came to officially present rehabilitation tools given by Akwa Ibom women to commemorate the birth anniversary of Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel. During the presentation, Dr. Adiakpan said, “that women under her leadership were here to identify with the indigent in order support the charity work of Her Excellency”.p0
Speaking further, she said that after reformation, there is need to assist inmates with rehabilitation tools to complete the rehabilitation process.
