We were told that there is subsidy, if that is true then who approved it?. We are the only one that can appropriate money so if you pay subsidy claims without approval then you have breached the Nigerian constitution and that is blatant stealing”’
But Shockingly within days after this great speech and after emissaries by the Presidency two days to the investigations Senator Marafa was serious on the side of self deceit when he blocked all attempts to make the NNPC and Minister for state for Petroleum to answer question if truly there is Subsidy Payment under the Buhari Fuel Regime system.
While Members of the Committee like Senator Bassey Albert (PDP Akwa Ibom) and Senator Philip Adudu ( ) labored and struggle to make the two men on top of the Subsidy scam racket give answers as to payments of Subsidy Senator Marafa asked both (Baru and Kachukwu) not to say a single word on the subsidy and subsidy payment and not even to give out the persons who got such payment as he bluntly asked the duo not to answer any question put to them on the payment.
Daily Watch confirmed that Senator Marafa change of stance in less than three days after vowing to expose and deal with any unconstitutional payments was traced to a two hours meetings the Senator held with Presidential Cabals in the Villa over his statement on the Scam running into several billions which the National assembly never budgeted for and which the Presidency paid to several top APC members and fronts in secret Subsidy payment deals.
