Weeks back, the NBC placed a fine of over five million Naira on Channels Television simply because it airs an interview critical of the Buhari”s administration, same was dished out with different fines to Kiss Fm, Cool FM, City Fm, Star Fm, Sweet FM. The DG also had to forced the Popular Wazobia Fm to always declare to the NBC its guest list or these to interview in almost all its interview sections for the NBC vetting before such interviews are done as failure on the part of the station would result in hefty fines. The Frequencies of Rhythm FM had been closed and withdrawn five times within a space of one year by the NBC for very funny and shocking excuses but which is simply as a result of airing materials critical of the government in power. Today programs like Gbenga Aruleba Focus Nigeria on AIT has been yanked off the airwaves not by the operators of the Radio Station but the direct orders of the DG NBC for been too critical of the Buhari government. Already several radio and Television stations nationwide are about folding up as a result of constant and intermittent fines for airing guest, programs critical of the Buhari Government or Islam making the NBC to be more of an APC/Islamic Commission as against the rules and regulations setting up of the NBC.
