WARRI- Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Delta state Sir, Bright Edejewhro has revealed that there would be no caretaker committee in the state, until the elections, noting that the Local Government councils have a backlog of unpaid wage bills across the state and caretaker committee would be unnecessary for proper financial prudence.
Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Delta state Sir, Bright Edejewhro who represented the state governor, said during a People Democratic Party Uvwie LGA, party appraisal meeting towards the success of the party in the fourth coming council polls.
He said that the councils in Delta state are in great financial distress which led to backlog of debts of civil servants and the state Government is not ready to add more debts to the councils by appointing politicians to manage the councils before the election.
Hon. Edejewhro urged party members at all levels to work hard to deliver the upcoming Local Government council election across the state. Saying that Uvwie belongs to PDP and that should reflects in all ward election result.
During the PDP meeting, Hon Solomon Igrakpata moved a motion of vote of confidence to the state governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for his service delivery of sustainable developments across the state. The motion was seconded by Sir, Bright Edejewhro Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs which was unanimously adopted by party faithfuls.
