ABUJA-The days of the Registrar of the National Judicial Council (NJC) Seleh Garba seem to be numbered if the stories emanating from the inner sanctuary of the hallowed chamber of the National Assembly is anything to by.
Daily Watch readers would recall the several expose about the rot in the Buhari’s Government most especially the stoppage of the trial of the Present Registrar of the NJC for looting well over 2 billion Naira from the Supreme Court of Nigeria when he was a registrar of the apex Court and which led to his sack from the esteemed position and for which he was investigated and case ongoing in the Court of law under Prosecution of the EFCC.
The case which was on the Fourth Sitting was shockingly withdrawn by the EFCC then with the excuse then that additional charges are to be added and the case refilled but shockingly the same Seleh Garba who was facing trial for stealing and looting of two billion Naira from coffers of the Supreme court was appointed as the Registrar of the Nigeria Judicial Council the apex body that disciplines and look over the Judiciary and also added to his portfolio was the Secretary of Corruption Monitoring group, a body to monitor cases of corrupt persons and their trail in Nigerian Court prompting many then to question how a thief undergoing trail for theft would have his name put forward for two important and sensitive positions in the same Government that claimed to be fighting corruption.
Daily Watch investigations confirmed that several Senators are said to be rooting for an investigations in to the withdrawal of a clear case of theft and a compensation with two highly sensitive positions on the same Corruption the government claims to be fighting and a terrible contradiction on the part of the Buhari’s Government.
Daily Watch visit to the EFCC to ascertain the level of the case and level of prosecution was as shocking and revealing, as the commissions bluntly refused to comment on the case which the commission stopped after the fourth court appearances of the subject before a withdrawal of the case with a promise to file fresh charges.
Daily Watch sources in the EFCC confirmed that the case was drooped on the prompting of the AGF and the Chief of Staff to the President who has now become the final clearing House of all corruption cases and petitions in the country unlike in the past thereby turning the EFCCC under Magu to an extension of the office of the Chief of Staff Abubarkar Kyari where most corruption files disappear from the EFCC to like the Present case file of Ex Supreme Court Registrar and Present NJC registrar two billion Naira theft file.
Attempts to reach out to Seleh Garba on his reported looting of two Billion Naira and plans by the Senate to open an investigations on how he escaped his trial to become NJC registrar was not possible as everyone in the NJC kept silent anfd mute.
