ONISHA-A new Crisis of financial disappearance from the Central Bank of Nigeria seem to be causing tension in the Government circle with many asking the Central Bank to come out clean on where the fund is domiciled or withdrawn by whoever to save the Buhari government from another Financial disgrace.
The genesis of this whole issue had to do with the cry of the Ekwueme’s Family over the sad Silence of the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria on the where about of the 200,000 pounds said to have been issued by the Government for the payment of Doctor Alex Ekwueme’s Hospital bill.
According to Daily Watch findings, confirmed that when the Federal Government consented to pay for Ekwueme’s medical bills the Federal Government approved a whopping 200,000 Pounds for the Hospital bill which the family paid to the London Hospital as a result of the delay in Government Money getting to the Hospital only for the payment to hit the Hospital’s account several weeks after the Alex Ekwueme’s Family had offset the Bills pushing the London Hospital to refund the sum total of the money back to the CBN.
The Cross of the matter now is the silence of the returned fund which the CBN is supposed to have released to the Ekwueme’s family but which the CBN and top Government officers seem to be refusing to act on or refund going to over six months after prompting many to believe that the money had been collected by some Government officials rather than paying same to the Ekwueme’s family.
All Attempts by Daily watch to speak with the CBN boss and other Officials of the Central Bank on the where about of the 200,000 pounds met a brick wall as everyone is evading speaking on the where about of the fund.
Daily Watch also reached out to Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province Anglican Communion Dr.Emmanual Chukwuma who is the Counselor to the Ekwueme’s Family who confirmed the Silence of the Government and the CBN over the Ekwueme’s 200,000 ponds domiciled with the CBN that had till date refused to release same to the Family thereby creating the suspicion that the money has been either taken off the Bank or been withheld for all to forget about it so that some officials of government can go for it.
