The pharmaceutical society of Nigeria, (PSN), Akwa Ibom chapter has appealed for government to step up the syringe industry to a full-scale pharmaceutical industry for the benefit of our citizens and Nigerians at large especially it would boost the state health economy sector.
The chairman pharmaceutical society of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom chapter, PHARM (DR.) AKWAOWOH AKPABIO stated this in his address at the opening ceremony of 2019 P S N week in Uyo.
With the theme: Safety and Effective Medignes for all.
The chairman said when also becomes a full-scale pharmaceutical industry would provide Job and boost our economy while also provide safe and effective medicine as well as making Akwa Ibom a pharmaceutical hub across the globe.
“Despite the industry we cannot talk about safe and effective medicine without having a mechanism of checkmating the scale and instruction of unsafe and ineffective medicine for the sake of our citizens”.
The member representing Abak in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Udeme Otong said the Akwa Ibom chapter should not relent over their responsibilities despite challenges and make sure use the P S N week to cover all lapses facing their profession and believe the P S N week would also update their knowledge to practice professionally meeting up the best standard and acceptable across the globe.
He encourage them to continue work hard tremendously understanding the have a task as they seriously deal with humans lives without any controversy over their Nobel profession without cutting corner.
Pharmacy student, Mr. James Udoh said the pharmacy week is to encourage activities that promote and advocate for the role of pharmacist in improving health in various corner of the state and the world at large.
