*Cabal moves for soft landing, cautions EFCC
ABUJA-Palpable tension seem to have envelope the Ministry of Finance and the office of the Minister following series of pressure from diverse sources over the suspension meted out by the Minister to the Director General of SEC Mr. Mounir Gwarzo Mounir Gwarzo whose 30 months tenure in the security and exchange Commission (SEC) was cut short with suspension from the Minister of Finance for corruption related issue less than two days ago is said to be under administrative investigation for not just paying himself over 104 million Severance allowance on his elevation to SEC DG after the resignation of ArumaOteh the former SEC DG .
According to Daily Watch investigations Mounir Gwarzo is said to have not only pay himself 194 million but in conjunction with other two senior officers of SEC in the persons of Mr. Abdususalam Naïf Habu and head of SEC Media Division and Mrs. Anasteasia Omozele Braimoh head Legal department used over seventy Companies two carry out several Financial improprieties and pilfering of several Millions from the SEC.
The trio who are also said to be under the searchlights of the Nation
anti-graft body EFRCC are presently facing suspension from office to
pave way for thorough Administrative Investigations according to
Public Service Rule (PSR)03405 and 03406.
Already the investigations of the SEC DG seem to be creating serious
wave and tension not just in the seat of power but all over the
Country as the Minister for Finance in less than two days after
dishing out the Suspension of the SEC DG has received over our
warnings and appeal by three notable Traditional Rulers in the
Northern part of the Country calling on the Minister to not only
revoke the said suspension with immediate effect or in the alternative let the investigations run in such a way that the DG must come out unblemished .
The appeal which later turned to warnings following the Minister
refusal to play ball seem to have also pitched the EFCC with the chief
of staff to the President Abba Kyari who is said to have been reached
by the cabal to cautioned the Chairman of the EFCC to tread carefully
o his planned investigation of the SEC DG since according to them he
is ‘one of us’ as such must get a safe landing no matter his
culpability.
While Daily Watch can confirmed that the Minister seem not to be
giving heed to any emissaries or threats to her position over the DG
SEC issue as she is said to be vehement in her getting to the root of
all the corrupt practices in SEC no matter whose horse is gourd.
Attempts to get to the EFCC on the level of investigations of the DG
over the use of seven registered companies from which the wife and
cronies were said to have used in fleecing Sec of several Millions was
not possible but the Deputy Director of Press Federal Ministry of
Finance confirmed to Suspension and investigations of the trio based
on normal Civil Service rules and Regulations’.
