Professor Emeritus, E.J Alagoa has described the books written by Nengi Josef Ilagha as his way of talking to leadership at various levels
through Journalism.
The erudite Professor emeritus made the remarks while speaking as the Chairman of the presentation of Sermons From The Oxbow Lake and Epistles To The President at Tamara Hall along Otiotio road, Yenizue- Gene in Yenagoa.
The erudite and renowned Professor advised the youths to read books and learn from the exploits of the author, noting that whenever young people come to him to look at their works, he feel very confident to refer them to Nengi Josef Oweilagha for advice.
The book reviewer, Dr.Bernard Steven from the Department of English and Communication Studies, Niger Delta University, Amassoma in his review described the two books as an audacious interrogation of power in relation to performance and misgovernance.
The books according to the reviewer objectively examined the high and low points of former governor Henry Seriake Dickson led restoration government, former president Goodluck Jonathan performance at the federal level and urged President Muhammadu Buhari to take decisive steps to sanitize agencies saddled with the responsibility to develop the Niger Delta and be fair to every part of the country in the distribution of appointments and development projects.
He enjoined public office holders to bear in mind that power moves from one individual to the other.
In his remarks, the author, popularly called Pope Pen said people should always document their experiences for posterity.
The author said he got the inspiration to write from reading books written by Gabriel Okara, John Pepper Clark, E.J Alagoa among others while in Secondary School.
He thanked every one for their support and for honouring his invitation.
