Two suspected armed robbers have been reportedly killed and other gang members escaped with serious bullet wounds after an exchange of gun fire with men of the Nigeria Police Force”A” Division on Saturday September 29 at about 10am at Old Welfare Street near Igbudu Market in Warri, Delta State.
Daily Watch reliably gatered that the two unlucky robbery suspectr died on Sunday morning at an undisclosed hospital as a result of gun wounds sustained in exchange with police.
The suspects were fleeing when they were intercepted after they dispossed one Mr. Uche of his tricycle along Warri main garage which they used for their criminal activities, police says.
Mr. Uche, however, quickly alerted the Police who were on routine patrol
In the process, the Police trailed them but they engaged the Police in a serious shootout in the area.
During the exchange of gun fire the deceased suspects sustained serious injuries and while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
The Police also recovered a bag containing an unspecified amount of money inside the tricycle they used for their robber Operation.
Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner for Police,CP Muhammad Mustafa only confirmed that two armed robbery suspects were arrested in the process of robbing one.Mr. Uche.
According to CP Mustafa, “They used tricycle popularly called (Keke Napep) for the operation, and they were intercepted by the Police. But they are seriously injured and currently are in the hospital.
