The Delta State Chapter of the Police Community Relations Committee,PCRC today inaugurated a new Executive for the Enerhen Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The new Executive will pilot the affairs in the area within the next four years.
Speaking at the inauguration/appeal fund raising ceremony, the Delta State PCRC Chairman, Amb. Chief (Dcns.)V.O. Odet JP a.k.a, Bravo said being a member of PCRC is not a licence to commit crime.
Amb. Odet also said members of the new Exco should not allow their interests override their Official duty just as she threatened to withdraw the certificate of anyone found wanting.
In an acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in Enerhen PCRC Chairman, Engr. Gracious Omatseye on behalf of his team, disclosed that policemen on night duty use their handsets as torchlight.
He added that the Police do not have any toilet and other facilities in the Station.
While noting that the situation is very appalling, Engr. Omatseye promised that new Exco which heads will carryout some renovation works at the Station.
The Divisional Police Officer, Enerhen Division, CSP Emmanuel Yakubu said,”truly, we lack everything it takes to perform.”
CSP Yakubu said the PCRC which is a social organization has bridged the gap between the police and the society.
With this CSP Yakubu said, the Police will ensure a Peaceful Enerhen Society as its dream.
The Warri Area Commander of the Nigeria Police Force,ACP Mohammed Shaba who was represented by CSP Rachael Edegwa congratulated members of the new PCRC Exco and urged them to conduct themselves within the ambit of the law.
The Delta State Chapter of the PCRC Provost, Mr. Christopher Otumu administered the oath of office to members of the new Exco.
