Presidential adviser and coordinator of the federal amnesty programme High Chief Dr. Dennis Otuaro has admonished ex-agitators never to return to the creek to carry arms. He said he was the part of the struggle and saw the pathetic death of several Niger Delta youths who die by gun during the gun battle with federal troops.
Dr. Otuaro disclosed Monday during an interactive session with delegates of the 3rd phase ex-agitators.
He said as Head of the Amnesty programme, he would ensure no Niger Delta youth returns to the creek and carry arms for whatever reasons.
He said he needed the cooperation with everybody to succeed, saying that he saw nothing hampering his office not to succeed in the task ahead of him with the total support from President Ahmed Tinubu Bola. He appealed to the youths to approach a non- violent intellectual engagement with federal government and multinationals operating in the region to demand for justice, saying that the arns struggle over the years was noy productive as it cost death of innocent youths, children, men abd women during gun battles with troops.
He revealed that his office would embark on foreign scholarships programme of education and vocational training to empower youths capacity building in Niger Delta.
He pledged to bring sanity into the office and assured to correct irregularities of BVN and other wrong data stopping genuine captured beneficiaries who have not been paid by the office.
The 3rd phase ex-agitators, however pledged their total support to the new PAP administrator by working with him following his track record as a man of honour and integrity.
