The National leadership of Izanzan Camp has accused the Deputy Senate President, distinguished Senator Ovie Omo Agege for promoting an anti-Ijaw agenda, thereby, warned him to desist from it to make the Delta state peaceful and united state.
The group alos passed a vote of confidence on the patriotic activities of Western Ijaw Consultative Assembly (WICA) as a body agitating for the survival of Delta Ijaws.
Izanzan national coordinator Amb. Yerinmene Arerebo disclosed on Thursday in a press statement which copy was made available for Daily Watch in Warri.
According to the group,’’We resolved to pass the vote of confidence on WICA activities following the recent open letter forwarded to presidency that clearly spelt out Delta Ijaw position over the NDDC board appointment.
‘’The actions of WICA has proven beyond reasonable doubt that, their is still a strong voice in Ijaw Nation despite the fact that the only revered mother body of Ijaw Nation; Ijaw National Congress (INC) has not been able rejuvenated by Ijaw leaders for a certain selfish political reasons best known to them.
In as much as we throw our weighty support to WICA, we implore the leadership to do well to attend to all issues bordering the minds of Ijaw people especially now that we are at the edge of losing the only political office held by one of our kinsman, Senator James Ebiowou Manager if we are not careful.
‘‘Whilst we have keenly watched the political steps and permutations of Sen. Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, we are bold to state without fear or favour that his political steps is to witch-hunt delta Ijaws’’.
Continuing ‘‘We are by this press release calling on Senator Omo-Agege to stop being a blockage to Delta Ijaw for a reason being that his political future cannot be achieved without the support of the Delta Ijaws considering the blocks votes from Riverine Communities.
‘‘Senator Omo-Agege shouldn’t also forget timely that Ijaw youths and elders like Hon. Garry Stanley Ebifide, Barr. Demebide A. Pele, Sir Kenerekedi Napoleon, Louis E. Ekemiafa and host of others are also working with him day in and day out for him to succeed politically therefore is not ideal for him to pay them back with evil, therefore we urge him to act inclusively as a Nationalist for all’’ the group said.
