Senate President Saraki
ASABA-Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday congratulated Senate President, Dr Olubukola Abubakar Saraki as he turns 55 years on Tuesday December 19, 2017.
Okowa lauded the remarkable contributions of the Senate President to the development of Nigeria and the legislature as Chairman of the 8th National Assembly.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu, the Governor eulogized Saraki’s tremendous contributions and outstanding accomplishments in the service of his country over the years as a two term Governor, Chairman of Governor’s forum, distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and President of the Senate in the 8th Assembly.
“As Chairman of the 8th National Assembly, it is on record that the Senate passed 138 bills in 30 months including the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB).
“Mr President, the Senate under your leadership remains people friendly as evident in the 112 petitions treated from members of the public in 30 months.
“Despite several distractions, you have significantly achieved milestones in the execution of your Legislative Agenda which aims to improve governance, ease of doing business and the quality of life of Nigerians.
“On the auspicious occasion of your 55th birthday anniversary, I join your family, political associates, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for your life which has been marked by outstanding accomplishments and enduring fulfillment.
“On behalf of my family, the Government and people of Delta State, I congratulate you and pray that Almighty God continues to strengthen, guide and prosper you,” adding “As you deservedly celebrate this anniversary, it is my prayer that Almighty God continues to bless you with robust health and many more years of happiness,” Governor Okowa wrote.
