Okowa, Esayegbemu charge PTI graduands to prepare for journey ahead

Executive governor of Delta state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Principal and Chief executive director of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Professor Sunny Esayegbemu Iyuke have  charged graduating students to prepare themselves for the journey ahead to promote the name of the institute globally .

Governor  Okowa and Professor Esayegbemu disclosed during the 2019 graduation ceremony held today in the institute’s conference hall, Effurun, Warri, Delta state.

Governor Okowa who was represented by the commissioner oil and Gas Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba, charged graduating students to use the knowledge gained to better the society by coming up the innovations meet the present economic challenges in the country.

He said that Delta state government would partner with the institute  provide training of manpower development and also to come up with a modern design of modular refinery to meet up with  the challenges of the nation’s petroleum industry.

 

The Principal and Chief executive director Professor Esayegbemu  said, ‘‘ I am delighted that today, we are successfully graduating students who  have toiled  timelessly, with hours of hard and have been found worthy in character and learning to be awarded the institute’s Diploma and Certificates of various disciplines of engineering, science and petroleum business.

Continuing, ‘‘ The Petroleum Institute’s fundamental concept and principles of quality management, competence and standardization have consistently distinguished her as the center of excellence for human capital development for the requisite knowledge of technicians and technologist required in the operations of the oil , Gas  and allied companies’’ he noted.

In his address, the chairman governing council, Mr. A.R Sharkur stated that the Petroleum Training Institute is poised to improve competent skilled training in line with global best practices.

According to him, ‘‘ This would be achieved with the introduction of international professional certification to students that would be useful in the ever-growing oil and Gas industry’’ he said.
