Governor Okowa made the call today (Tuesday) when the executive of Delta State Council of ACNPN led by Comrade Jude Obiemnyego paid  him a courtesy visit in Asaba.
The Governor who lauded the fact that publishers of community newspapers have an umbrella body to champion their course, reiterated that sharing of information and ideas, would ensure that people at the rural communities are abreast with happenings in other localities.

“As community newspaper publishers, there is greater strength when you share ideas and information and I am glad that you have come together to be members of one body,” the Governor said, assuring that his administration will always work with the ACNPN to ensure that people at the different communities of the state are aware of his administration’s programmes.

He disclosed that the driving force behind the acceptability and achievements of his administration was open-door policy and letting the people know the situation of things at all times, asserting, “we are running an open-door policy, we engage in town hall meetings because, there is nothing to hide from our people, they need to be properly informed as partners in the governance of the state; they tell us how they feel and we tell them what we are doing.”

Governor Okowa who reeled out some of the achievements of his administration in the areas of road construction, job and wealth creation, quality health-care delivery, among others despite the country being technically on recession, emphasized that his administration will always be on course, remain focused in the delivery of democratic dividends and good governance to Deltans.

Earlier, Comrade Obiemnyego commended the Governor for his developmental strides, assuring that the ACNPN as the publishers of newspapers that gets to the people at the nooks and crannies of the state will highlight the activities of government.
