The People of Ogbolubiri-Mein kingdom in Burutu Local Government area of Delta state have installed their traditional ruler at last after many years of vacancy. He is  His Royal Majesty, Johnbull Polokowei, Apiarogun, Ongolo 1 in grand style of festivity, jubilation and cannon shooting to mark the historical epoch making event.

Traditional rulers, top political office holders across various kingdoms in Delta and Bayelsa converged to celebrate with their kins and kits as traditional elders’ council of king makers of the kingdom crowned their new king amidst jubilation.

Over nine years after the demise of the monarch in Ogbolugbiri-Mein Kingdom, the kingdom has been engulfed with many legal tussles over who reigns as the traditional ruler of the kingdom.

But at last, the people set aside their differences and preferred to take the path of peace, unity and development through the instrumentality of few prominent political leaders in the kingdom.

The newly installed monarch, His Royal Majesty, Johnbull Polokowei, Apiarogun, Ongolo 1 has assured his subjects that his reign will bring peace and unprecedented development to the Kingdom.

He said would not only to maintain peace at all times, but will work with both state and federal government for the development of his kingdom.

Historically, Ogbolubiri-Mein kingdom has five communities, include Agbodobiri, Ofonibenghan/Okrika, Gbekebor, Egodor and Ogbeingbene. it was stated that Ogbolu is the founder of Ogbolubiri-Mein Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state.

From available records, Ogbolubiri-Mein kingdom predates the 16th century with their forefather,  Ogbolu who gave birth to five children which include Feimieghan, Amazuo, Okoro, Egran and Egodor.

Historical account states that Okoro, son of Ogbolu founded Agbodobiri, the traditional headquarters of the Kingdom; Egran also founded Ogbeingbene just as Egodor founded Egodor.

However, the story of Gbekebor and Okrika/Ofonibenghan remains slightly different as Ongolo, son of Feimiaghan founded Gbekebor while Angalangala, son of Amazuo founded Okrika/Ofonibenghan which now forms titles for the ruling houses.

However, the historic event was hugely attended by prominent personalities from all works of life, prominent among them include Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives Abuja; Chief Prince Emman Amgbaduba, Chairman Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Delta South; Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, PDP candidate Burutu North, represented by his aide, Mr. Mike Akpi among others too numerous to mention.
