The Ogbe-Ijoh kingdom Electoral committee chairman, Chief Sylvester Tiebebedigha Macauley has clarified that his committee disqualified Mr. David Omare as a result of violatiion of the community constitutional provision, exonerating His Royal Majesty Couple Oromone of allegation of intruding into the community ‘s politics.
Chief Tiebebedigha, Ogbe-Ijoh ELECO chairman told Daily Watch while reacting to a petition and media report intended to rubish the hard earned reputation of the Ogbe-Ijoh monarch by some aggrieved persons who sent an open letter to the Delta state governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, urging him to intervene into the Ogbe-Ijoh community chairmanship matter.
ELECO chairman told Daily Watch that his committee disqualified ‘ David Omare who violated the constitutional provisions chapter two ( 11) section ten (10), subsection five (5) which states that ” For the purpose of an election into the governing council, a person cannot aspire for any position outside the quarter where he/she reside. David Omare violated on that portion of the constitution. David Omare was disqualified because he first aspire to contest in Ikiandumu and he lost out, then he came to Oturubiri quarters to contest. That is dual registration based on which my committee screened him out and recommended another qualified person from the same Oturubiri quarter in the person of Chief Victor Akposeseye Okiri as the selected candidates of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom as stipulated in the Ogbe-Ijoh constitution 2003/2015 as amended (quarter rotation)”‘ He said.
The ELECO chairman condemned earlier media report following what he described as a false petition by aggrieved persons, accusing the monarch of Ogbe-Ijoh for choosing chairman for the community, thereby, setting the community on fire.
He appealed to the public to disregard such negative report against the monarch over the Ogbe-Ijoh community chairmanship poll.
