Nigerian Union of journalists (NUJ) Warri correspondents chapel has congratulated their colleague Comrade Michael Ikeogwu on his appointment by the Delta state governor His Excellency Chief Sherriff oborevwori as senior special assistant on media.
In a jointly signed press release by Victor Okpomor
Chairman and Edeki Igafe Secretary respectively, said
”Sir, the news of your appointment did not come to us a surprise. Indeed, you deserve it.
“We urged you to deploy your wealth of experience garnered in the pen profession as well as in your various leadership positions in the NUJ to bear and contribute your quotas to the overall development of Delta State.
“”The NUJ, Warri Correspondents Chapel assures you of her maximum support and cooperation in the discharge of your new responsibilities” the statement added.
Continuing, “We express gratitude to Almighty God for the privilege to serve in this capacity and pray God to grant you the strength and wisdom to discharge your duties effectively.
“While wishing you more elevations, we thanked our amiable State governor, Rt. Hon.
Sheriff Oborevwori for appointing one of us into the exalted position.
”Going forward, we assure the State Government of our maximum support and cooperation” journalists pledged their support to the Delta state government.
