Cross section of Okere-Urhobo traditional council of chiefs and elders today at the press conference
WARRI-The Otota ( spokesman) of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State,Chief Wilson Eboh has said that several persons have been parading themselves as traditional rulers in Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, saying that the government of Delta State has not selected or crowned King in the kingdom.
Eboh made the clarification at a Press Conference held at the Palace of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom in Warri.
Eboh who was reacting to a letter written to the Office of the Deputy Governor of Delta State which stated that one Chief Christopher Okumagba was presented and introduced as the Orosuen(King) of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom by one Chief.D.B.O. Opogen.
The letter was published in the in one of the community newspapers in Delta State on the September 2017 with the new title ” Warri: Okumagba emerges Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom.” who is the Regent and Chairman of Okere-Urhobo Traditional Kingmakers Council
”On behalf of the traditional kingmakers council,the traditional council of chiefs,elders and entire people of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom,Warri, I wish to make it abundantly clear that nobody has been selected ,appointed, installed and crowned as an Orosuen(King) of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Warri” he said
