The Nigerian Labour Congress said the national protest would surely take place for the federal government to have a listening ear on our educational sector.
The National President Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba made this known while speaking with media practitioners shortly after the 18th NLC rain school 2020 in Uyo.
With the theme Labour, Politics for National Development and Social Justice in Nigeria.
The President said the protest would be peaceful without causing any crises, as they are law abiding citizens while after the exercise federal government respond on deaf ear to the protest then the union have no option of giving them 3 days warning strike without compromise as the union is not witch-hunting anybody rather for the betterment of our Nation Education.
According to him, the NLC would not fail to have a Town Hall meeting towards that effect educating the people the need for our children to go back to school while the politician’s children are schooling in abroad without feeling the impact that is going on in the University Education system in the country while they are in abroad studying seriously to achieve their educational career.
The Chairman Nigerian Labour Congress Akwa Ibom State, Comrade (Elder) Sunny James said workers would be mobilized for the national protest tomorrow which is not solidarity while commended members for their massive turnout to be trained in different field as far as rain school is concern for the development of the union.
He said the school trained NLC leaders which is a welcome development while appreciate the six international participant and LOC that came from South Africa which showcase the need to pass through the rain school which is very important for Labour leaders.
