The Nigerian Institute of town planning (NITP) has used the work shop to improve member’s knowledge and sharpening their skill to provide effective town planning delivery towards practice of the profession.
The national president, TPL. OLUTOYIN AYINDE FNITP made this known in his address during the 23th Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme in Uyo.
With the theme Preparation of Bid Professional and Procurement of Town Planning Services.
The national president said towards the development they would not leave any stone unturned as far as the training programme is concern, to ensure that they gain adequate knowledge of the subject matter while we can subsequently build our confidence on the knowledge acquired, having had a very good foundation.
He urge them to take advantage of the work shop for their own benefit and advice them to be humble enough to discard ideas that are no longer sellable, admit our ignorance of new frontiers, grab the opportunity to know new things and try to reinforce some of the things we know that are still relevant.
The president of town planning registration council of Nigeria, TPL ISYAKU MUKHTARKURA FENTIP said the workshop provides an opportunity to discuss proposal and procurement strategy and share national and international case studies of projects, highlighting successes and lessons learned and how we can tap into the experiences from such discussion to achieve our purpose as professionals.
He believe that everyone that avails himself/herself to the opportunity of this workshop offers will at the end of the two days meeting go back feeling satisfied for being better equipped for enhance Town Planning Service delivery.
Chairman of the NITP/TOPREC MCPDP Committee, TPL. DR. CATHERLINE ULOKO said assess the level of participant’s knowledge of public procurement processes for effective biding of planning services while commended them for their massive turn out during the workshop and believe with this they would achieve their purpose.
