NIM tackles insecurity in S/South region

The Nigerian Institute of management (chattered) NIM has thrown their weight to deliberate and tackle the burning issue of insecurity in the south- South Geo-Graphical Zone with a view to articulate ideas which would be useful in solving identified problems.

The President and Chairman of Council, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chattered), Prof. Olukunle Iyanda who spoke with journalist shortly after the 2019 South-South Zonal Submit of the Institute in Uyo.

He said the burning issue has made them to bring together prominent security experts, top public functionaries and various community stake-holders to brainstorm on the security challenges facing south-south Nigeria with a view to proffering appropriate solution to end the menace.

“They would not relent to contribute for the development of Our south-South Geo-graphical zone and the nation at large as stakeholders in nation building while commended members for their massive turnout for the submit to make sure security issues bothering the area  have solution.

The chairman, south-south zone of the institute, Sir Emmanuel O. Okafor said over the years, the theme for each year’s summit is usually constructed to spotlight a topical issue which is prevailing in our geographical Zone Accordingly, given the contemporary security challenges in Nigeria as a whole, and the South-South Geographical zone in particular, we chose the theme The Imperatives of Effective Security Management for Sustainable Development in South-South Nigeria for this summit and believe after the submit towards our deliberation there will be implementation towards the authority concern.

He commended some Governors of the States in the South-South Geographical Zone of this Country for their continued sponsorship of members of the institute in their respective states to attend events organized by the institute in different parts of the Country. He urge them not to relent in doing so in future.

The Akwa Ibom Branch Chairman of the Institute, Amb. Iboro William commended members for their massive turnout and believe their deliberation on security issues handled by experts and especially stake-holders would assist to solve the lasting solution.
