A frontline anti-corruption crusade organization in Niger Delta, Ijaw Interest Advocate aka Izanzan camp has applauded the Nigerian Senate for setting up an Adhoc committee to investigate Niger Delta Development Commission over reported reckless financial misaporopriation, saying that Izanzan camp had done it part by blowing the whistle to draw the senate and other relevant bodies in the nation.
The group national coordinator Amb. Yerinmene Salaco, jnr disclosed in press statement made available to Daily Watch, said, ”’We have played our role by exposing the series of scandals; fraudulent activities in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), now it is over to the National Assembly to follow Democratic processes to probe the commission hence we are following up the probing as they resume hearing yesterday on the 9th of July 2020.
“The National Assembly, which is the distinct reliance of the common citizens of Nigeria must diligently do their job transparently to avoid further financial recklessness and fraudulent financial transactions in the commission.
“‘Over the years our muteness in the face of internal and external injustice and embezzlement of the commonweal of the people by leaders brought us to where we are today in terms of development, therefore; we have resolved never to keep mute in the face of any form of disservice and inequity despite who is involve.
“We want to believe that, the IzanzanCamp exposure of sensitive documents that showed series of financial scandal in the commission will serve as a lesson to other Niger Delta leaders as our investigative satellites are zoomed across boarders.”” He stated.
Continuing, “It is highly expected that, what belong to the people should be use judiciously for the people. Nobody has the prerogative, moral and constitutional right to embezzle the commonwealth of the people for any reason whatsoever. Hence even in the midst of tribulations, condemnations and threat of life, we will not relinquish from exposing any financial recklessness and fraudulent activities” the statement added.
