The elevation and recognition of Apiti of Rumueme chieftaincy stool to first class stool in the Rivers state traditional chieftaincy institution by the Rivers state governor, Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike Esq. CON has been described as huge honour from God to the paramount ruler of Rumueme clan, Nyenwe-Eli Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim, MON, Apiti of Rumueme.
Chief, Dr. Cockrene Udo a tilted Chief (the Ochialiri 1 Rumukpakani Community Rumueme clan) and the presiding Bishop of Our Lords Shepherd Of Jacob Cherubim and Seraphim Church (inc) Oro-owo Rumueme made the assertion in an interview with newsmen at Rumueme.
”Am particularly happy for the recognition and elevation of the stool because God has honoured Nyenwe-Eli Rumueme Nyeche Nsirim. You know its a lifetime battle one fought and became victorious while he is alive. Some people will fight the battle and they will not win in their lifetime. I think it’s a huge honour from God. This has been long expected for the Rumueme Clan. It’s the will of God that it came to pass in the life time of Nyenwe-Eli Nsirim, which means it is destined for him to attain this height” he posited.
Chief Cockrene Udo who is member of Rumueme council of chiefs averred that the welcome development has increased the overwhelming support and loyalty of council of chiefs to Nyenwe-Eli Rumueme, which according him will attract growth and development in the kingdom.
”The Rumueme council of chiefs will continue their loyalty and respectful to the stool. We shall apply the technics that will enhance the growth of Rumueme kingdom, reenforce the blend that will effectively  reengineer the growth and wellbeing of Rumueme kingdom”. he affirmed.
Emphasizing further, Bishop Cokorian Udo expressed the belief that the recognition and elevation of the stool has settled the conflicts that surrounds the stool in Rumueme clan, as he admonished the Rumueme people to embrace the development for peace and unity to rain in their kingdom.
”This will to a large extent help the Rumueme Kingdom, because the chieftaincy stool has been in conflict over the years. Many people speaks barbaric words about Nyenwe-Eli. But with the recognition and elevation Rumueme people will recognise and respect the stool of Apiti of Rumueme. And this recognition has called for the restructuring and reposition of Rumueme kingdom that will be the envy of other clans in Rivers state, where peace unity and harmony will be structured to enhance the wellbeing of Rumeme will emerge.
And it is my plight to at this pointing time call on our brothers and sisters who are on the other side to embrace this recognition and elevation of the stool for us to see the better tomorrow in our clan”
The Man of God promised to educate the youths on way to leave a good life. He admonished the youths of Rumueme kingdom to be focused in life and emulate the lifestyle of Nyenwe-Eli Nyeche Nsirim for them to attain greater height in their lifetime.
”We that are part of the youths are streamlining the defects in our youths today, educated them to be law abanding, shun all levels of cultism and cult related activities. So that they will takeoff from where the elders stopped. Because tradition and traditional believes are not documented. Culture is something that is past to other generation through observation while is been performed by elders. The youths should emulate and perform those rituals when the elders has past on. I enjoined the youths of Rumueme kingdom to observe the footprint of Nyenwe-Eli Omunakwe Nsirim and his council of chiefs in other to make a good print in their lifetime” Chief Dr. Cokorian concluded.
He thanked governor Nyesom Wike for the recognition, stressing that it has restored peace in Rumueme kingdom.
”I thank our able governor Chief Nyesom Wike CON for hs vision of humility in recognizing and elevating the stool, because it has restored peace, unity and progress in Rumueme kingdom” he concluded
