The Movement for the survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for re-appointing an oil and gas expert, Engr. Simbi Wabote, as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
The MOSIEND in a statement issued in Yenagoa by it’s National Secretary , Amb. Winston Cotterel Amain, commended the Executive Secretary, Engr. Wabote, for providing institutional support and training about 100 indigenous oil and gas service providers, which in the long run will boost local participation in the oil and gas industry in the country.
According to MOSEIND, the reappointment of Engr Wabote has further confirmed that in his first term as Executive Secretary, Engr. Wabote demonstrated genuine commitment to duty by promoting and increasing the Nigerian stock in the oil and gas industry in the country.
The Niger Delta group, also agreed with the vision of Engr. Wabote for increasing the Nigerian Content Intervention (NCI) Fund and embarking on other transformational projects such as; Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme in Bayelsa and Cross River states, NCDMB 10 mega watt gas powered Plant at Elebele, Ogbia LGA,. Bayelsa State, NCDMB Gas Hub at Polaku, Yenagoa LGA, just to mentioned but a few of them and when these projects are in full operation, will create direct and indirect employment for Bayelsans and Nigerians.
According to the group, “With your developmental strives, MOSIEND, have agreed to throw her weight behind you and also identify with the vision of the Board.”
The group scribe, Amb. Winston Amain, further advised the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote that, with the reappointment, he should create an enabling environment and create opportunity for engagement with host communities, social and political leaders in the Niger Delta and Nigeria in order to plough back to the society by way of corporate social responsibility within areas of their operations to avoid operational disturbances so as to realize the good intention of the Board to develop the land and it’s people.
On our part as MOSIENDES we will continue to engage and dialogue with critical stakeholders in Niger Delta and Nigeria to ensure smooth operations of the Board.
