WARRI- The Warri monarch, His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli has appealed to his critics to join him in building his kingdom instead of merely criticizing him from the cozy recesses of their bedrooms.
He also appealed to his subjects to embrace the change which he represent and charge them to shun divisive tendencies, saying that the task ahead is enormous and daunting.
The Olu of Warri made these appeals at Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the people during his 2nd coronation anniversary saying that the installation of deserving sons and daughters after due recommendation by the concerned families especially that of the Ologbotsere, Iyatsere and Uwangue respectively is aimed at re-energizing the Warri Council of Chiefs to bring in people with ‘greater commitment, greater zeal, ideas and people with the spirit of doing it”.
The royal father stated that he is committed to taking the Itsekiri nation to greater heights and appealed for their support even as he tasked the Delta state Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to hasten the completion of the Trans-Warri-Ode-Itsekiri-Road Project that is near abandonment for now, noting that if completed it will link the various neighbouring communities of Orugbo, Usele, Inorin and Ajigba even as it would promote trade and commerce and enhance social political interactions.
He disclosed further that the Federal Government has assured of its desire to pursue the take-off of the multi-million naira Ogidigben Gas Revolution Industrial Park to open up the area with its multiplier effects on job creation and business opportunities for the people just as he reveal that he has taken up the Escravos dredging, revamping of the Warri and Koko Ports including the age-long Ogheye- Deep Sea Port and Koko-Ogheye road projects issues with Federal Government for urgent attention.
