The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare has called for review of football administrators in Nigeria.
This follows the poor performance of the Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets at the ongoing U17 FIFA World Cup after the five-time world champions were bundled out by the Netherlands. It was reported that the federation is owing coach of the team, Manu Garba 6 months salary while the players were also owed bonuses and allowances.
Not happy with the development, Sunday Dare calls for review of football administration at all levels.
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets started the championship brilliantly, winning their first two group B matches against Hungary and Ecuador but surprisingly lost their last group match to Australia.
The most successful team in the world and group B winners also lost to one of the best losers, Netherlands who won only one of their group D three matches to book a Round of 16 ticket against Nigeria.
Netherlands defeated Nigeria 3-1 to stop the dream of the West Africans of winning the title for the sixth time.
