YENAGOA- The Nigerian soldiers have continued its offensive on Saturday and Sunday in Toru-Ndoro community of Ekeremor Local Government area of Bayelsa state over criminal activities of sea- pirates led by one wanted kingpin, Kareowei by the Nigerian police.
Soldiers have bombed the community for about ten hours between 10pm on Saturday and 7am on Sunday morning.
Report say, about 50 houses have been burnt down by the rampaging soldiers, who were claimed to be on a reprisal attack over the beheading of their colleagues last week by some ex-militants operating in the Ndoro axis.
The report had that several lives have been lost during the military operation at Toru-Ndoro and the burning of houses still continued today Sunday while the ancient community has become a ghost town.
According to our source, a notably Ijaw ex-militant leader, General Bonny Gawei was also missing. The source added that General Bonigawei led the team of the military troop to Ndoro community last week where the criminals from the community ambushed them and beheaded on of the military personnel.
