Daily Watch gathered the incidence created tension among the locales as they ran into the forest and others packing their properties for fear of possible military attack as they have witnessed some years ago.

Our reporter called senior military personnel in Yenagoa who pleaded anonymity, but said that there has been no intention by the military to attack any town in Bayelsa or Delta. According to him, the movement of military boats and helicopters is a normal routine military periodic exercise being carried out in some parts in the riverine areas in Delta State as a result of activities of militants, kidnappers and oil thieves.

Eyewitness during a phone conversation with our reporter in Warri, said that ‘‘Oporoza traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu kingdom Delta States as two military fighter jets hovers around the town paying a disciplined attention to the palace of the Pere of Gbaramatu kingdom’’

The Spokesman of Gbaramatu kingdom, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, however, explained that the fighter jets flew past in quick succession, sending signals to the residents that all was not well.

He said that as a result of this development, many of our residents fled the community, fearing that the community might be invaded as the military intensified the search for militant group.

Gbenekama, further added that many of the people who fled to the bush for cover include children, nursing mothers and pregnant women adding that what the Nigerian military is doing is dehumanizing and therefore condemnable.

He called on the Federal Government to stop these incessant harassment of their kinsmen as many of them were already traumatized and finding it difficult to live like normal citizens.
