WARRI-As parts of its Social Corporate Responsibility, SCR to host communities,Matrix Energy , an oil and gas outfit in Delta State has renovated the long dilapidated Ifiekporo community Primary school in Warri South council area of the state with over Twenty-four (N24m) million naira.
The company built 5 female toilets and 5 male toilets including a complete 12ft perimeter fence with entry and exit gates. They painted and renovated/refurbished the 5 classroom blocks in the school including providing new furniture for both teachers and pupils, provide new chalk boards, desks, doors, tables, windows and ceiling boards.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony of the these facilities to the community school management, the Chief Operating Officer, COO, Matrix Energy, Mr. Luckman Salam Alada in company of the Sales and Administration manager, Mr. Musa said “the Corporate Social investment project in infrastructural upgrade and refurbishment is aimed at totally enhancing quality education for the children by providing better sanitation and hygiene that helps the pupils learn in a healthy, secure and safe environment’.
He charged the management of the school to ensure that these facilities a properly maintained and protected so as to remain useful to future pupils and teachers disclosing that the company regularly funds the facelift and repairs of roads in the community just as it has continued to give monthly stipends to the elderly in her host communities of operations and provide job opportunities for qualified indigenes and local contractors.
Vice-chairman of Ifiekporo community, Mr. Austin Leleji applauded Matrix for their gesture and requested for further assistance and charged other companies operating in the community to emulate Matrix Energy to bring Ifiekporo to the desired level of infrastructural growth and development.
