TUOMO- A philanthropist, High Chief Mike Loyibo, yesterday empowered 30 persons on his birthday in his hometown, Tuomo community in Burutu LGA of Delta state with cash gift of N15 million which was shared N500,000 each.
Several leaders of Niger Delta region converged in Tuomo town to witness the Chief Mike Ekayamo’s birthday/ empowerment programme.
Dignitaries include, Alaowei Brodick Bozimo CON chairman of the event, Senator James manager CON, Rt. Hon Nickolas mutu OFR, Rt. Hon Evelyn Boroh,Rt.Hon Emma Oghene Egoh,Rt. Hon Julius Pondi,The Ovie of Ughelli kingdom,Pere of Oporomor kingdom,Pere eduweni. The state chairman of Delta PDP Olorogun Kingsley Esiso,Dr.Hon B.A Angozi,Hon commissioner for power and Energy Barr Newworld, Dr Capt Pius sinebe ,Hon.Godsknows Angele, Chairman Burutu LGA and his counterpart, Hon Barr. Chief Loyibo said he was compiled to give back to the society as a way of expressing gratitude to God for blessing him. ‘‘I am not exhibiting wealth, but is my sincere appreciation to God for blessing me. I am not doing this because I want to contest any political office.It is my turn to give back to the society to appreciate God and the society .’’ he said.
He said this is an annual programme which he commenced seven years ago. He noted that by God’s grace, next years beneficiaries would gain better than this year.
The beneficiaries of Loyibo’s 2018 empowerment programme were excited and prayed for him for God’s blessing and protection.
Senator James Manager admonished the beneficiaries to make good use of the cash gifts, which according to him were a huge start-up capital for business the Ijaw communities that could turn their fortunes in the future.
