Late Apostle Mitini Famos Takeme
BURUTU- The remains of late Apostle Mitini Famous Takeme was finally laid to rest yesterday in both Christian and traditional wake keeping in his home town at Obetebe in Burutu LGA of Delta State.
Apostle Mitini passed on the 13th of December, 2017 at the age of 87 after a brief illness in a private hospital in Warri, Delta state.
The first of the late Ijaw oral historian, Chief Julius Takeme,(JP) former council chairman in Burutu LGA of Delta State who expressed joy and gratitude for the large turnout of guests at the burial ceremony .
He thanked specifically the executive governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and his entourage for finding time to join his family to bury their father and all other guests. He prayed God’s protection during and after the ceremony and grand everybody journey mercy to their respective homes .
It was a moment of fulfillment for the Takeme’s dynasty as they played host to revered dignitaries over the interment of their late father who had being a family solid background, resource point and encyclopaedia and Ijaw culture.
He was a successful family leader and lover of peace. He was survived by a wife Mrs. Oruetare Alice Takeme (Nee Sala) and blessed with nine children, six sons and three daughters, among who are Mrs. Roseline Hitler, Chief Julius Takeme, Hon. Spencer Takeme, a serving Councillor in Burutu LGA legislative house Capt. Dennis Takeme and many others, including grandchildren and great grandchildren.
