* I maintained my ground, Kusimis are strangers, Odidi tenants – Chief Aribogha
By Cletus Opukeme, Warri
The Kusimi Development Movement; KDM, has challenged Chief Jonny Aribogha over his claims that Kusimi is tenants to Odidi, describing him as a brazen liar.
But Chief Aribogha when reached by this medium on phone maintained that the Kusimis are strangers and that they are tenants to Odidi community. ” They know their history” He maintained.
Recently the Kusimi development. Movement wrote to the coordinator of the Delta Ijjaw 2023 governorship lobby group Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, calling on him and other Ijaw leaders to remove Chief Jonny Aribogha on the excuse that the chief may betray them as they accused him of betrayal and inconsistency in character over running legal communal battle with which the chief is protecting his community Odidi in Warri South West LGA, Delta state from what he described as strangers trying to capture part of ancient Odidi community, therefore, he said the Kusimi will not be allowed to get host community fights from the multinational operating the vicinity. Chief Aribogha said the matter is already in the court of Nigeria and worried why communal land dispute be extended to Delta politics with which he is a key member in lobby Ijaw governorship agenda.
Tuesday evening, the Kusimi development Movement (KDM) national coordinator Mr. Smart Kusimi on behalf of his pressure group replied Chief Aribogha for tagging people of Kusimi tenants in their own land.
Read Kusimi Development Movement reaction to Chief Aribogha in full:
It is shameful to note the lies of an elderly person like Chief Jonny Aribogha. His lies are disgusting; he should be ashamed of himself and bury his head in shame.
In his reaction to our press statement, Chief Aribogha claimed “Kusimi is Odidi tenants,” therefore, he cannot comment because the matter is in court and would be “considered as a prejudice.” We challenge Chief Aribogha to tell the public how Kusimi community is Odidi tenants. Furthermore, we urge Chief Aribogha to tell the public the winner of the court case all through to appeal if he does have a reputation.
Similarly, Chief Aribogha also described us as “misguided youths who were misled to drag a communal land dispute in Odidi which is already in court to politics, in order to paint his reputation bad. What reputation does he has? We need not to remind, Chief Aribogha that politics is built under the morals of truth, fairness and justice. And elder Aribogha cannot play politics if he lacks such moral virtues. We reecho by challenging Chief Aribogha if he does have reputation as he erroneously claimed, then he should tell the public how Kusimi won the case in lower and appeal courts of which Chief Aribogha and his cohorts are disobeying.
Chief Aribogha said, “Smart is a little boy who needs proper hone [sic] training. We believe it is the blatant lying Chief Aribogha that needs to be taught morals, at his age he is lying and oppressing Kusimi people. For such an elderly man to say the court will determine the outcome of the case, is hypocritical, mischievous and full of deceits.
We pray Chief Aribogha changes because he cannot take the place of God and posterity will judge him as an old elderly man that is a pathological liar.
