Candidates of All progressive Congress (APC) Hon. Karona Etonye for House of representative, Burutu federal constituency and Hon. Pereotubo Oloye for Delta state House of Assembly Burutu South constituency have assured the people of Burutu LGA rapid infrastructure development, empowerment of the youths, men and women , if given the mandate in the coming general election.
The duo made the promise during a campaign visit to some communities in Burutu LGA on Tuesday.
Karona said that he has been tested and performed creditably well as a former councillor and secretary local education authority in Burutu council.
His words ‘‘ When you people tested me in the Burutu council as a supervisory councillor and secretary local education authority, I did not fail you. Here again, I came to plead with you to send me to Abuja as a good messenger and I will not fail you. You should use your PVCs to defend Burutu by voting somebody who will not neglect you after election. Our current incumbent federal lawmaker has no nothing to show after four years in Abuja representing Burutu federal constituency. We should not allow youths who have nothing to offer in his capacity to represent us again in such sensitive positions. Lawmaking is not an all comers affairs.
‘‘ When does the PDP Burutu federal constituency lawmaker gathered people of Burutu in a townhall meeting to give his stewardship four the past four years? People of Burutu, vote for me, vote for Mr. President, Chief Great Ogboru for governor Delta state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan as senator for Delta South and the two assembly candidates, Hon. Peres Oloye and Michael Edonkumor to move the council forward’’ he said.
On his part, Hon. Peres Oloye assured that if voted into power, Burutu youths will feel the real impact of empowerment in every segment. He said he has a burning desire to always support the youths, women and men in his own little way, even outside politics.
According to him, Burutu youths needs quality education which he noted is the bedrock of development in every civilized society. He said, if given the mandate, he would sponsor bills and motions to promote the riverine local dwellers with a view to changing the standard of living of the people in the oil rich, but impoverished people.
In Okpokunou and Tuomo, several speakers, including Chief Clement Moni, an oil magnate, Hon. Osogbo Egoli, Mr. Ayo Sekegba, Chief Lucky Johnny, Comrade Ware-ebi Edon, Mr. Theodore Ezonfade, Timi Angaye, Bozimor Zalade and others assured the duo of their victory as well as the APC Governorship candidate, Mr. President second tenure and all other APC candidate block vote in the February poll.
They pleaded with both men and women to use their votes to throw away the PDP led administration in Delta state.
High point of the campaign was the wonderful warm reception Ijaw cultural female dance group for the entertainment of Karona campaign train in Okpokunou Burutu local Government that endeared the admiration of the mammoth crowd .
