Jubilation as Okowa presents staff of office to HRM Emmanuel Wariwini Arikawei as monarch

Jubilation as Delta state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has formally presented staff of office to  His Royal Majesty Emmanuel Wariwini Arikawei as the traditional ruler, the Ebenanaowei of Obotebe kingdom in Burutu LGA of Delta state.

Governor Okowa  who was represented by his deputy governor, His excellency Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro has advised the new king to use his office to maintain the existing peace in the kingdom to attract development by working with other monarchs as well as chiefs/subjects in his kingdom to move the kingdom forward.

He assured Obotete kingdom of state government support at all times as he promised to sand-fill  Obotebe community, a project he revealed had been already captured in the 2019 Niger Delta development commission (NDDC) budget .

The promised to carry out other developmental needs of Obotete community as well as other Ijaw communities before the second tenure runs out.

A welcome address signed by the Bolou-owei (traditional prime minister) of Obotebe kingdom,  Chief Tunde Smooth and Chief Monday Akoubodo, Ag, Secretary Obotebe traditional council of chiefs  on behalf of the king had expressed their profound appreciation for the state government and other members of the Delta state traditional council to join them to celebrate the formal presentation of staff of office to the new monarch.

The kingdom stressed that Okowa/Otuaro led administration has been beneficial to the Obotebe kingdom as well as the entire Ijaw kingdom. They also eulogized the leadership qualities of the newly decorated monarch by the state governor with a staff of office as one who would lead the kingdom forward.

For Chief Tunde Smooth and Chief Imonina Victor Egukawhore (aka Welles) they described him as  a great mogul and good business partner in the marine industry for decades with good track record that would bring his expertise to develop the kingdom.

They however, urged the government not to relent in providing more social amenities for the well being and benefit of the kingdom to change the lives of the community.

In their separate addresses, Chairman Burutu LGA Hon.  Chief Dr. Julius Takeme, immediate past commissioner in Delta state, Hon.Godknows Angele, Chief Smooth Tunde and Chief Imonina Victor Egukawhore  aka  Weles, both thanked the Delta state government, other royal fathers and other dignitaries for their support in making the presentation of staff of office  ceremony a success.

The occasion attracted other traditional rulers in Delta state and politicians who graced the occasion.
