Infrastructural development tops my agenda in Bomadi- Angadi

Hon. Angadi

BOMADI- Newly elected council chairman of Bomadi local government area in Delta State, Hon William Angadi has said delivering sustainable infrastructural development is the major agenda which would move  the council area to the next level.

The council Chairman made the assertion during the inauguration of the legislative arm of the council area at the council’s head quarter in Bomadi. He said ‘We must therefore not lose focus on our primary objective on providing better primary health care system, primary education, sanitation and empowerment of our youth and women to move the council forward’’

He urged the cooperation of the legislative arm, civil servants as well people in the council area to join with him to carry out the assignment of bringing good governance to the good people . ‘‘To this end, I call on the capable and trusted staff of this great local government council, our guardians and partners in progress, we count on your usual cooperation in the task of implementing the policy thrust of this administration.

‘‘I have the singular honour of congratulating the elected vice chairlady and councillors here present for their well-deserved victory at the poll, today, beside representing your various wards, your composition would culminate in the constitution of the local government legislative arm in line with the delta state local government law immediately after taking your various oath of office today.

‘‘However, let me assert that the victory you recorded at the polls did not come by your personal capabilities but largely due to the trust the good people of Bomadi local government have in our party- people democratic party (PDP) and their beliefs in our capacity to deliver in our electoral promises. This is the trust we must ensure is kept on the front burners through diligence, hard-work and services to our people.’’ He noted.

He told the councillors the inauguration coincided with the period of economic recession and security challenges in the national history as well as a period the local government system is experiencing stagnation.

He urged the councillors, therefore to work together in harmony to justify the confidence repose in them by the electorate by making laws that would impact positively in the life of our people.

‘‘It’s pertinent to note that the task of bringing the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of our people start with you- the lawmakers hence you cannot afford to fail. You do agree with me that the people democratic party (PDP) in delta state is synonymous with good governance as exemplified by the developmental strides of our amiable governor, senator (DR) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa who enjoys a good working relationship with his strategic partners in progress, the members of the delta state house of assembly.

‘‘In this regards therefore we must replicate that perfect working relationship and reflect such synergy in the relationship between the legislative and the executive arm of the local government council in a bid to domesticating the governor’s smart agenda besides our election is a collective call to serve and it will be in our own interest and in the interest of our people to shun corruption and unnecessary infighting’’ he admonished the councillors.
