Ijaw National Congress (INC) has fixed a fresh date July 20th for election with  Dr. Benedict Binebai confirmed yesterday by a powerful Ijaw leaders of thought as Chairman electoral committee (ELECO) to over see a smooth electoral process.

Dr. Binebai,  Head of Department, HOD, Theatre Arts, Niger Delta University, NDU, Wilberforce Island, Amassoma in Bayelsa State has emerged chairman of the Ijaw National Congress, INC Electoral Committee.

Dr. Binebai’s emergence as chairman of the electoral committee was as a result of the resignation of Rear Admiral W. G. Yanga, former chairman of the committee which Ben Binebai and others were members.

Daily Watch could not  be categorical  on the circumstances of Binebai’s emergence. But  we gathered from an insider that the decision to make Dr. Ben chairman of the ELECO was a decision taken by Ijaw leaders of thoughts in King Koko hall, including traditional rulers confirming his emergence,  following the voluntary resignation of , Rear Admiral Yanga after the botched last week Saturday INC election which was disrupted by miscreants believed to be allegedly sponsored by few privileged Ijaw leaders in Bayelsa state government top positions.

However, when contacted, Binebai had maintained that  the entire members of the committee will continue from where Rear Admiral Yanga stopped.

He assured Ijaw nation to conduct free, fair and credible election to fill the remaining offices of the INC ‘“We will conduct an election that the entire Ijaw nation will be proud of” he said.

He had hinted our reporter that same delegate list will be used to conduct the election for the remaining positions, revealing that election will be conducted for the President of Ijaw National Congress, INC, Vice President 1, Vice President 2, Secretary general and as well as Financial Secretary.
