Ijaw youths set to carry out massive protest over FG closure of Maritime Science and Technical College in Okoloba town in Bomadi LGA, Delta state.

This was revealed in a press statement signed by leader and National President of Izanzan Intellectual Camp, Amb. Salaco Yerinmene Arerebo, calling on federal government to reopen the institution for full academic work and also complete the campus building project, or Ijaw youths will take over major roads and sensitive government gates in Niger Delta

His words, ‘‘My Dear Distinguished and forever dogged Comrades Across Ijaw Nation, I salute and commend you all for your doggedness from the Izanzan Intellectual Camp Conference Room (IICCR).

’‘It’s an undoubted fact that, posterity will applaud every one of us for doing well; for being consistent in fighting for the sustainability of our towns and villages and for the common wealth of our people in one way or the other.

‘‘And In as much as we are doing well and praying for God protection, we shall get it right and we shall historically achieve our place in the Nigeria oppressive society one day as we continue to do what is right at the right time without compromising our conscience for any reason whatsoever.’’ He stresses.

Continuing, ‘‘My dear comrades for time past, we fought Intellectually together and achieved some well deserved projects from the state and federal government together e.g the final settlement of the Nigeria Maritime University Okerenkoko, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West, Delta State and others few projects in other kingdoms.

‘‘It’s on the above fact, I implore you all once again to come out en masse to join lieutenants of Izanzan Camp to fight for the reopening of the Okoloba Science and technical Maritime College that has been closed down for unjustifiable reasons almost four years now. Well I’m not surprise for the closure of the college because it is a calculated attempt to truncate every education system in the creeks of the Niger Delta.

‘‘Educationally, the college will not benefit only the Okoloba people but the entire Ijaw Nation, Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole as it will serve as a tool to deflate (decrease) the rate of unemployment as well as the rate of every forms of restiveness in the region.

‘‘As I uprightly mentioned in IIA; Izanzan Intellectual Camp Press Release without mincing words that “the closure of the school is mere hatred against peace loving people of Ijaw Nation and Niger at large” therefore I call on you all to rise up and sharpen your pens to fight against this educational hatred and oppression.

‘‘Our continue muteness over the closure of the school will not help us as people educationally. Dr. Good luck Jonathan, Former President of FRN, and Dr. Akpobloukemi Patrick Ziakede, Former Director General IMASSA’’ has done their part’’ he said.

He  urged all Ijaw youths  to always raise their voices collectively against the total oppression meted on the Ijaw people by federal and state government and should continue to do so until the very day justice is done leave this world. ‘‘We have no better cause other than to fight for our people’’ he admonished.
