Akwa Ibom State owned aviation outfit, Ibom Air Company Limited has expanded its fleet with a 90 seaters, CRJ900 Bombardier aircraft.
The aircraft with registration number 5N-BXP, is the fourth in its series and comes with a High Efficiency Air Filter (HEAF) hyper technology, which is a passenger safety device against viruses including Coronavirus.
Receiving the air bus in Uyo on Tuesday, the state Governor, Udom Emmanuel said, the aircraft is the latest in the fleet of the State aviation industry stressing that, it is still within the warranty in the domestic aviation.
“This is the latest in this fleet and when you have an airplane that is still within warranty in the domestic aviation, you can beat your chest. You do not have to be afraid of Covid-19.
“The state aviation industry, will keep growing with improvement especially, with additional and the latest number of four airplanes operating by Ibom Air”, Governor Emmanuel said.
Governor Emmanuel said the dream of a state owned aircraft, Ibom Air began in 2016 adding that, experts in the aviation industry have also attested to their quality.
According to him, “the air efficiency of the aircraft is superb so, there will be nothing to fear and also our safety standard remains to be beaten by any other airline.
“I have the assurances of the management of the company that, they will maintain and improve as there is room for improvement” noting that, Ibom Air was planning to dominate the industry in West African subregion and compete with the rest in the world.
Chairman, Ibom Air Limited, Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga (Rtd) thanked God for the arrival of the aircraft in the state.
Nkanga said, the plane is equipped with modern gadgets including hyper technology that is against diseases such as; bacteria and viruses (coronavirus).
Chief Operating Officer, Ibom Air, Capt. Mfon Udom expressed delight on the new addition of the aircraft in his fleet, promising effective and efficient service delivery to his passengers.
